Redefining modern for a family-friendly home

Tandem Bench

Maybe I’m crazy for wanting one of these tandem benches, but they are so cool!

As always, click for source.

Used in waiting rooms, airports and bowling alleys, these benches were a dime a dozen back in the day.  Now, they can make for an awesome statement piece in your home.

$365.  Blue and taupe naugahyde over fiberglass shells.

Our laundry room off the garage has become our catch-all place for, well everything.  It’s where we keep about 10 pairs of shoes, three jackets apiece, diaper bags, purses, random items needing a home (like our old kitchen table), and of course, heaps and heaps of laundry.

I’d like to think that if we put a little effort into making it more functional, it might end up staying a little tidier.  I’d love to hang some sleek coat hooks on the back wall.  There’s a coat closet right when we walk in, but somehow coats don’t end up in there.
Source unknown.

And a place to sit and put on shoes and coats would be amazing.  Right now I sit Logan on the dryer while I try to wrestle him into his outerwear.  Not exactly ideal.

$295.  Love the color! I would buy this in a heartbeat if it would fit in our laundry room! Unfortunately it’s about 3′ too long. :(

$249.  I’m a sucker for those fiberglass arm chairs.

$399.  Simple and sweet.  A much better fit for our space.  The white seats aren’t as playful as some of the other options, but you can always add color elsewhere.

$2,250.  But so kooshy and I love the little table! Someone go buy this, please!

$225.  This one is marked down because it’s missing the center seat.

But… if you added a little shelf there like one of the those benches pictured above?  Perfection!
